I hope this writing finds you all well and warm or cool for the weird weather month of May. If you missed our first of the month Burrito Breakfast I am so very sorry. Around 180 burritos were made and before 10:00 they were all gone! Mark your calendars for June 6th and get there early. These are the best burritos in town! We serve from 8:00-10:00 unless we run out early! Don’t miss out!
Hope Lutheran Church is a church that welcomes all who walk through our doors. Come as you are. We are a casual dress, coffee drinking welcoming bunch! We would love to see you this Sunday. Come and sit with Mom and worship.
This Sunday is Mother’s Day. We will honor all the Mom’s. So because it is Mother’s Day, give Mom or Grandmom a special gift and worship with them on their special day. I am a Mom and a Mamo and I love it when I get to be in worship with my children and the grands. This week’s message is not easy. Jesus is teaching His disciples that loving means following His commandments. Jesus begins with the Great Commandment; Love the Lord you God with all your heart, your mind and your strength. But at this time Jesus adds a new phrase to this commandment…”and your neighbor as yourself. This was not a suggestion that Jesus gave. Jesus commands love for him and for others as an act of obedience. He states this as a commandment to act in genuine love by keeping His commandments. Come and see how Jesus explains this.
Today’s Schedule:
9:00-9:45 Sunday School for all ages.
10:00-11:15(ish) Worship with communion.
All are welcome to the Table of grace, mercy and forgiveness.
Tuesday May 12-? Blessing Bag Ministry
We are in need of non-perishable food items such as tuna/chicken packets, cheese/peanut butter crackers, oats and honey granola bars or other such snack items. Personal items such as socks, bandanas, bar soap, and plastic silver ware.
