Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here! I hope this Friday has brought you joy at the end of the week. And I am going to issue a special invitation to each of you to attend worship at 9:00 am at Hope Lutheran Church in Springtown, Texas. We have a sign next to the highway to welcome each of you. Hope is the “coolest” place in town!
This week’s message finds Jesus and the disciples in Cesarea Phillipi. It is the place where Jesus asks two questions of the disciples; “Who do people say that I am? The disciples respond with different answers. The answers vary from “Some say you are Elijah. And someone else says, “That you are John the Baptizer.” Now to us those answers are kind of strange. But then Jesus looks at Simon Peter and asks, “Who do you say that I am?” There is a long silence from all of the disciples and finally Simon Peter cannot stand the silence anymore…and he answers…..? Come and worship with us and hear what Simon Peter answers and the change he experiences. It’s a cool story!
We welcome all who come through our doors. We are a casual dress bunch. We believe that coffee is the third sacrament. The communion table welcomes all who wish to to receive mercy, grace and forgiveness. Sooooo…
