Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here! I hope this writing finds you all well and enjoying a great cup of coffee and this 78 degree weather!
This past week we put 24 bags together for our Blessing Bag Ministry. The Blessing Bag Ministry fills bags with non-perishable food, water, bandanas, socks, and personal hygiene items. These bags are dispersed to two of the Centers of Hope ministries and given to those who are homeless and those who are in need. These two ministries are located in Springtown and in Azle. Volunteers and donations are always needed and appreciated.
This week's message is sort of an opposite from last week’s message. This week will explore Matthew 13: 24-30, 36-43. In Matthew’s writing he begins with Jesus’ parable of the wheat and the tares. Tares are a plant that will grow alongside the wheat plants and look a lot like the wheat plant. The problem is the tares are a poisonous plant and if the roots of this plant wrap itself around the wheat plant it will poison the wheat and eventually it will poison the flour which is made from the wheat. We will focus on Matthew’s explanation of this parable. It is a very interesting explanation. I hope you will join us for worship this week and find out just how we fit into this story and God’s plan for these two plants and us! So fear not…”The Weeds Will Not Win the Day”

Hello my sisters and brothers at Hope Lutheran church. It’s been a long long time since I had the pleasure of being with you. I’ve been longing to see you for a number of years but haven’t been close enough to do so, that’s change now because we’ve moved back to Springtown.
Beverley has been physically unable to attend any outside activities for a long time since falling but we’re hopeful, Lord willing, to be able to be with ya’ll in the near future.
