I hope this Fri-yay morning finds you enjoying this day and planning a great weekend! This week at Hope Lutheran in Springtown, TX has been a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School. The theme was “Grace Anatomy.” I loved VBS as a child. I loved the songs, the stories, the crafts and the delicious snacks. As I get older I am glad that there are some things that have not changed much. All of those were lovingly in place and waiting for the children to experience live Biblical characters such as the Jonah and Noah. Thank you to all of the adult helpers who provided great activities and delicious food for all of the kids.
This coming week we are gathering to make Blessing Bags. Blessings bags are prepared with non-perishable food and other items such as socks, bandanas and personal hygiene items. We need lots of helpers as we are making 24 bags for distribution throughout the area for those in need. Come and help. It’s fun!
This week’s message comes from Matthew 13; the Parable of the Sower. I have always loved this story. It is also the first parable taught. The key word in this type of writing is “parable.” A parable is a story that teaches a lesson. Jesus did much of His teaching through this kind of writing. I invite you to imagine the sower walking along a path and tossing seeds as he walks. And as he walks he broadcasts these sees with joy and reckless abandon. He wanted each seed to have a chance to grow and flourish no matter where it landed. I hope you will come and worship with us this Sunday. We begin worship at 9:00. We are a come as you are, casual dress, coffee drinking congregation. ALL ARE WELCOME who come through our doors. I hope to see lots of folks there this week.
