Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here!!
I hope each of you had a wonderful New Year. Here at Hope Lutheran we embarked on a new ministry this week. We created Blessings Bags filled with non-perishable food items, personal items, warm hats and mittens. We are partnering with Center of Hope in Springtown, TX. They will distribute the bags to those in need. We had a great time and prepared 14 bags for the first distribution. We will continue this ministry as the need arises.

This week’s message is one of my favorite stories from Matthew 3: 13-18. This is the story of the baptism of Jesus. Jesus walks into a crowd of folks being baptized by John the Baptizer in the Jordan River. When Jesus appears before John he tells John he needs to be baptized by by him. John is very confused by this request. John feels that he should be baptized by Jesus. John’s baptism is for the repentance of sins and John knows that he is a sinner and Jesus is not! Come this Sunday and find out why Jesus needed to be baptized and why we should be baptized as well.
If you are looking for a new church home or want to come back after an absence from church come and give us a try. We are a casual dress, coffee drinking all are welcome here congregation. We would love to see you.
