Hope Is Alive! December 19, 2025

Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here.

It’s one more week until Christmas! I would love to tell you that I am ready for the “big day,” but since pastors are not supposed to lie, I am not quite ready. However, I feel sure I will be there by this coming Thursday.

This week’s message is about Joseph; the betrothed husband of Mary and the one selected to be earthly father of Jesus. “As Matthew makes it clear, the Messiah must come from the house and lineage of David, and so it rests on Joseph to give his name and legitimacy to Mary’s child. If Joseph refuses, the fulfillment of the prophecy comes to a halt!” Imagine Joseph being betrothed to Mary only to find out that she is expecting a baby and he knows it is not his child. Joseph must have had many doubts, angry moments and thoughts of how to handle this. This makes for quite a story. I have titled this message, “Why Me Lord?” (Nothing against Kris Kristopherson.) Come this Sunday and walk the road Joseph had to walk and how he worked this out.

This is also wear a Christmas t–shirt, sweatshirt or sweater Sunday. It will bring an air of festiveness to the sanctuary as we anticipate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This Sunday’s Schedule

9:00-9:45 Sunday School for all ages and play practice.

9:45–10:00 Contemplative prayer time and candle lighting.

10:00-11:15(ish) Worship with communion. All are welcome at the table of grace, mercy and forgiveness.

11:30 (ish) Following worship there will be a brief council meeting.

December 24, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service beginning at 11:00 PM.

If you are looking for a new church home or just desire to get back into the habit of going to church…come on in and give us a try. We would love to welcome you into our fellowship and worship. We are a casual dress congregation that welcomes all who walk in our door and believe the third sacrament is coffee!

So, come as you are and hope to see you this Sunday!

Grace and peacefuls,

PGC(Pastor Gaylene Chrystie)
