Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here! Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and my best wishes for a fantastic 2026!
Here we are on the first Saturday in January and the first Saturday of the new year. You know that this means Burrito Breakfast time at Hope Lutheran Church in Springtown, Texas. All you have to do is come to the church between 8:00–10:00 Saturday morning. Tell us how many burritos you need, if you want fresh brewed coffee and Capri Sun juices. We will bag it up and bring it to you in your vehicle and you are ready for the day! This is a free breakfast and donations are accepted but not requested.
FYI If you were not in worship last Sunday you missed a grand treat. Our Hope Lutheran Thespians presented a Christmas play entitled The Christmas Guest. Fantastic performance! Thank you to all of those who were a part of this wonderful Christmas play.
This week I will be preaching on John 1: 1-18. This passage introduces Jesus as the eternal Word, who existed with God and was God before creation, through whom all things were made, and who brought life and light to humanity. John writes that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, revealing God’s glory, grace and truth. But here is the question… What’s going on in Christmas for you and me? I’m not asking what happened, but what’s going on? What Word is becoming flesh in us? Come and worship with us and find out!
