Hi! Pastor Gaylene here! What happened to fall??!! I was so ready for it and enjoyed the two days we had. Hope is alive and busy and growing. This Sunday we will be receiving another new member into our congregation. I love it when we receive new members. It shows that we are growing and reaching out to folks and they are coming and staying!
I will be back in the pulpit this week. And a special thank you to Bill and Laurie Johnson for stepping in and presiding over worship with preaching and serving communion.

This week’s message comes from Luke 21: 5-19. The setting of the story is the temple in Jerusalem. And Jesus talks of the endtimes. This is the temple built under the reign of Herod of Great. The disciples are talking about how beautiful the temple is with all of its gold, huge stones and opulence. Jesus doesn’t see the temple that way. He sees it in rubble and ruins. Jesus sees that all of this must break and buckle and come to an end so that new life and a new home can return. Come and hear the words of Jesus as he shares the future of this glorious temple and he essentially tells the Disciples that “It’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.”
9:00-9:45 Sunday School for all ages.
10:00-11:15(ish) Worship with Communion. All are welcome at the Table of Grace, Mercy and Forgiveness.
11:30– Congregational Meeting.
If you are looking for a new church home I welcome you to Hope Lutheran Church in Springtown, Texas. We welcome all who come through our doors. We are a casual dress congregation. Jeans and a t-shirt are just fine. So come as you are. Come and sing. Come and hear the Word read, sung, preached and acted out in Holy Communion. As always…the coffee pot will be hot! See you Sunday.
Y’all come. PGC (Pastor Gaylene Chrystie)
